Abstract

In today’s globalized world, communication frequently occurs among individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Traditional language teaching approaches often emphasize the use of a single language for communication, whereas translanguaging recognizes multilingual speakers’ ability to draw upon their entire linguistic repertoire. This article examines the role of translanguaging in facilitating cross-cultural communication. It explores how translanguaging promotes mutual understanding, cultural awareness, identity expression, and effective interaction among speakers from different cultural backgrounds. The article also discusses practical implications for language education and intercultural communication
